Grand sweeping updates...
Boy, has it been quiet on my blog this... year.
I had some writing goals for 2018. All of them went out the window, but for good reason.
The Christmas holiday brought with it sudden, positive change: An opportunity to move closer to families. Over the course of twenty-seven days, our family went from believing we'd be in our farmhouse forever, to moving in on the other side of town. Before we could bat an eye, we'd begun a new season of life.
That season of life has kept us running all year. Getting settled, finding programs for the kids, reconnecting with friends and family we haven't been able to see often in nearly a decade... all kinds of amazing things. I even got to go on an author's retreat with my critique group, my longest trip away since having kids!
In between, I've made time to write, probably adding another 10,000 words to the second novel... and enjoying the new view from my writing desk.
